Ser or Estar

Both Ser and Estar mean to be, but they are used at different times.

Ser Estar
soy somos estoy estamos
eres sois estas estais
es son esta estan

*the bottom four conjugations of estar have accents on the a*


Ser is used for the following:
Origin (where you're from)
Traits and characteristics (what you're like physcially or personality)
Jobs
Time
Date

Estar is used for the following:
Location
Emotion
Temporary conditions
